What We’re Wearing: EJ’s Black Leather Baseball Cap
If you haven’t already heard, baseball caps are in. The sporty lid topped heads on the spring 2014 runway, and they’re already making headway at the InStyle office. Case in point: Fashion Assistant EJ Briones with his Oak black leather baseball cap.

Behind-the-Scenes: DKNY’s 25th Birthday Bash in New York City
"A star-studded guest list? Check. One-of-a-kind venue located in one of New York City’s historical Wall Street buildings? Double check. Musical performance by Rita Ora? Triple Check! That was the scene at #DKNY25 Birthday Bash hosted by Donna Karan herself and it was my favorite party during Fashion Week. After I caught up with attendees Hailee Steinfeld, Alexandra Daddario, and Emmy Rossum, I got a chance to speak with the event’s MC, Karlie Kloss, who was not only taller than I’d expected, but the sweetest model I’ve met. Once we got to talking, she ended up recognizing me from the Daily Front Row’s Fashion Media Awards, which made me adore her even more. After everyone moved inside the heart of the Wall Street building, Rita Ora took to the stage and really got the party started while guests ate chocolate-covered pretzels, popcorn, and pizza bites. What was even better? Everyone got Karlie’s Kookies as a goodie bag treat. Now that was pretty sweet.”

Behind the Scenes: Kicking Off New York Fashion Week with the Industry’s Best at the 10th Annual Style Awards
"Ready, set, strut! Fashion’s top talent, from models Kate Upton and Christie Brinkley to designers Zac Posen and Rachel Zoe, came out in full force last night to celebrate the 10th Annual Style Awards at Lincoln Center, marking the start of Fashion Week. And taking my seat in the theatre after chatting with host Nicole Richie, Victoria’s Secret’s Lily Aldridge and Lindsay Ellingson on the carpet, I couldn’t help but feel in awe being surrounded by such forces. Each of the 10 honorees, which included photographer Patrick DeMarchelier and Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant (who was also celebrating her wedding anniversary), shared a sweet acceptance speech and enjoyed an even sweeter performance by Ariana Grande after receiving their awards. But my favorite part of the night was hands down model of the year Upton, who didn’t hesitate to show a sense of humor as radiant as her looks as she joked with the announcer between takes. If the night is any indication of how the week will be, it’s going to be a ball!"

What We’re Wearing: Couture Fashion Week
InStyle’s Style Director Melissa Rubini snapped her trés chic Couture Fashion Week looks from the City of Lights. Which look is your favorite?
1. Head to toe in Chanel: Black and white tweed skirt and top, black and clear heels, and handbag.
2. Christian Dior strapless dress, red and black Louis Vuitton kitten heels with red glitter, and a Chanel bag.
3. Black Alberta Ferretti short-sleeved dress, Bottega Veneta lace-up heels and handbag.
4. Paring a mix of Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, and Saint Laurent with Elsa Schiaparelli pink trousers.
5. Blue Marc Jacobs ensemble with a white Louis Vuitton bag.
When Prabal Gurung's collections walk the runway, people take notice! But it's not just the pretty dresses and strong suiting that caught my eye at the designer's spring show. Joining forces with an equally celeb-adored label Casadei, the fashion superstar sent his models out in some of the fiercest footwear of the season. Talk about drama: sheer materials like plexiglass and net were reinforced by bold bursts of scarlet leather. A few days ago at Fall Fashion Week, Gurung and Casadei presented another set of statement heels (this time, military-inspired gladiators), once again they’re on my list! When planning an ensemble I pick the clothes first, then bags, shoes and jewelry and if it still feels lacking I’ll add a belt. But this belt is no afterthought. I would plan entire outfits around Fendi’s contoured stingray and patent leather waist cincher. Whether with complimentary black and gray (as shown on the runway) or used to colorblock effect, when picking out clothes, this belt will always come first! Find out where to buy this luxe accessory!
