One of my constant New Year’s goals is to travel more. And like most resolutions, mine’s a promise that I never keep. In 2013, I plan to make a bigger effort to stick to my word and Diane von Furstenberg’s globe clutch will be a constant reminder for me to do so. I’ll tote the quirky beaded leather design with me wherever I go, whether it’s the other side of Manhattan or the opposite end of the map. And until I make it to far away destinations, I’ll know that the world is within my grasp!

For a little girl who once played dress up and collected Barbies, Viktor & Rolf’s doll-inspired show was an absolute delight. Down the runway came oversize accessories, exaggerated embellishments and this playtime-worthy clutch. For my inner child there’s a whimsical lacquered plastic closure, for my more grown-up side the handle opens to reveal a practical compact mirror. There’s nothing make believe about this bag.

I don’t like to play favorites with my beloved prints, but I must admit that stripes rank pretty high. While some tend towards the more slimming vertical variety, I’m drawn to the horizontal lines of Kotur’s colorful perspex clutch. Bold strips of black, burgundy, brown, sky blue and even neon yellow mean that this bag will both match and enhance any ensemble. At the expense of polka-dots and plaid, this eye-catching design is going straight to the top of my must-have list.

After a mild beginning to winter, the mercury has taken a nosedive here in New York City. But one look at this seashell shaped evening bag from Judith Leiber’s resort collection could warm the cockles of any fashionista’s heart. Inspired by the tony resort town of Palm Beach, the sculpted champagne and rose quartz clutch is dotted with semi-precious coral stones reminiscent of sea glass tumbled smooth by ocean waves. So while I won’t be jetting off on a tropical getaway, at least I can carry around a little summer solace as I brave the frigid gusts of wind on Fifth Avenue. Click here to see the price of this tropical clutch!

I’ve always been a flower girl—I love fresh-cut tulips, often keep a vase of hydrangeas and try to smell the roses. There will be petals aplenty at my wedding, but none so stunning as Roger Vivier’s colorful satin clutch. Forget the bouquet, I’d much prefer a crystal-studded bundle of chiffon anemone and peonies. It’s bold, whimsical and unlike my hydrangeas, these blossoms won’t wilt! Click here to find out how to get your hands on this limited edition clutch!

As the saying goes, “something borrowed, something blue”… I however would like to use my poetic license and throw something green into the mix. Sure, cornflower and periwinkle are more traditional, but Oscar de la Renta’s mossy miniaudiere is simply irresistible. I’d tote this pop-of-color accessory at the cocktail hour, for the reception and well after my wedding day. It may not rhyme, but this clutch is pure poetry. Click here to see the price of this jeweled clutch!

One of my favorite childhood vacation memories was collecting seashells in the sand. Whether it was on a Cape Cod dune or along the Caribbean’s pristine beaches, something about those nautical beauties always caught my eye. So it’s only fitting that if I were to marry near the ocean, I’d carry Judith Leiber’s remarkable crystal miniaudiere. True to form, this sparkling shell would be among the day’s favorite memories. Click here to see which seashell clutch is our fave!

His family put the H in LVMHthe luxury goods conglomerate that includes brands like Louis Vuitton, Veuve Clicquot and Fendiso it’s no surprise that Kilian Hennessy is well-acquainted with the finer things in life. After making a name for himself with a niche perfume line, Hennessy branched out with a collection of deco-inspired evening bags late last year. This black lacquered plexiglass clutch gets its edge from a burst of gold metal marquetry, which the designer himself says is meant to represent “scratches left by the claws of an unknown creature.” A fitting description considering that I would put up a pretty good fight before I’d let go of such a stunning objet d’art.

Accessories designer Amanda Brotman is on a roll! In the past year, style icons in the making like Hailee Steinfeld and Emma Roberts have walked the red carpet carrying roll clutches from her Amanda Pearl line. Covered in hand-painted duchess satin and topped with a calcite-flecked blue cabochon gemstone closure, this bag accommodates only the cocktail party essentials—so you might want to consider leaving the cell phone at home. Luckily it’s a surefire conversation starter.
